5 “Must Do” Spring Cleaning Tips
One of the biggest dust collectors in your home- Your Curtains!
For a deep clean to remove all of that dust, pet dander and fur- you will want to take them down, remove all metal hangers (if applicable) and toss them in the dryer.
Make sure your dryer is set to an "Air-Fluff" cycle- Be sure to re-hang them immediately to limit wrinkles.
Ceiling Fans- Everyone loves them, but they LOVE to collect dust, dander, etc.
They do make special cleaning tools for Fan Blades- but that isn't really necessary. You can simply grab an old pillowcase, towel, etc and use it as a dusting rag.
Start with a coat of your favorite furniture polish, wipe down each blade and buff to remove any streaks you may see.
Make Sure to wash out all Trash Cans!
Think about what we are putting inside of these on a daily basis- they could definitely use a good cleaning at least one a year.
Spray them down with the hose, and dump them out. Next grab a disinfectant spray/cleaner, a long handled brush and scrub. Rinse them out again, and place them upside down to dry.
This cleaning tip should really be every time you go food shopping- Do not neglect your Refrigerator!
One of the best cleaners, (and most natural i might add) is a simple combo of soda water and salt. It has both the bubbling action and texture to perform the job needed!
Try to tackle one shelf at a time, whenever you are ready to load new groceries in.
Clean the Cooktop to remove any spills, splatters and crumbs.
Remove all grates and soak them in the sink, use an abrasive sponge to remove build up.
Be sure to check around the burners, knobs and dials for build up as well (Most models will allow you to pop the dials right off!)
Every surface in your bathroom could use a good wipe down.
Now is a great time to reorganize drawer and cabinet space and declutter the countertops. Whip up your favorite homemade cleaner- or grab a store bought antibacterial cleaner.
If there is an area that could use a deep clean, Baking soda and peroxide work well to create a cleaning paste.
