Ocean City's northern tip, beach to bay by the Longport inlet
The Gardens section or area of Ocean City is typically everything “north” of North Street. This is the northern most tip of Ocean City and goes from the beach to bay neighboring the Longport inlet. Historically the Gardens area was once a part of Longport.
The Gardens is home to some of Ocean City's most desirable homes. This area features many large lots and winding curved streets. Some of Ocean City's oldest and unique estates can be found in the Gardens. There are both condo duplexes as well as single family homes in the gardens.
This desirable area of Ocean City is equally appreciated by yearly residents, and 2nd home owners. There are many hidden small streets in the gardens that enjoy their distance from the “busy” part of town. The gardens is also home to many small eateries. Locals often prefer “Waverly” Beach for its surf and it's distance from the busy boardwalk beaches.

Where is the Gardens section of Ocean City?
The Gardens sits at the very north end of Ocean City. It starts at North Street and runs north from there, beach to bay, up to the Longport inlet. Historically it was once part of Longport.
Does the Gardens include North Street?
Yes. Most people consider North Street the first street of the Gardens. It's the southern edge of the neighborhood, and the Gardens runs north from there up to the Longport inlet.
What makes the Gardens unique?
A few things set it apart. Winding roads instead of the usual grid, backyards with real grass, and a lot of pie-shaped lots. Plenty of the streets sit at higher elevation than the rest of the island. And you've got easy off-island access over the Longport bridge, which stays low traffic compared to the main routes out of town.
What kind of homes are in the Gardens?
Some of Ocean City's largest and most prestigious estates are here, but it's not all big builds. You'll still find coastal ranchers and original bungalows mixed in, along with single family homes and condo duplexes.
